Optic crystal has the highest quality and clarity. Each facet and edge is beveled to capture light and sparkle. Optic crystal is thicker and more likely to be free standing 3-D designs. Both clear crystal and jade crystal are usually flat upright awards mounted on a base. The green tint of jade crystal awards comes from the iron ore content in the raw material. Some clear crystal designs feature black, blue, or red colored accents that add extra interest and reflections in color.

▪ Both acrylic and crystal awards have a clear appearance.

▪ Acrylic is lighter weight compared to crystal, so it costs less to ship. Crystal is heavier and will feel more substantial in the hands of the recipient.

▪ There is less chance of chopping or breaking with acrylic awards.

▪ Acrylic is molded and there are many shapes available compared to crystal awards.

▪ Facets are molded into acrylic, while facets are cut into crystal.

▪ Acrylic is a softer material and can scratch easier than crystal.

▪ Budget friendly – generally speaking, acrylic awards cost less than crystal awards.

▪ Screen printing is the traditional method, suitable for high quantities and fewer colors. Hot press involves a heat-adhered vinyl transfer, ideal for vibrant designs with many colors and lower quantities.

▪ Things to know! If you have a logo or design that has a lot of colors in it (like 8+) it might be a cheaper alternative to go with a hot press garment compared to a screen print. Hot press is essentially a special transfer that adheres to your garments by heat. You can include as many colors into the transfer as you like! For screen printing, every color means an extra screen will need to be made and more set up time. With more screens and more set up time there will be additional costs that go along with that.

▪ Screen printing – lower number of colors, high quantities. Hot press – higher number of colors, lower quantities.
